It is just an year old memory of my Barbados trip .This is one of my greatest moments of life. Seeing a World cup match among cricket giants and meeting all the superstars of West Indies cricketers in their own land, in their own land ,talking to cricket kings like Wesley hall ,Gary Sobers which I would not have dreamt in my life ,enjoying the tourist spots of the Caribbeans , seeing the culture of a different world , mixing with them, learning from them what is true love and their philosophy of respect are all highlights in the trip. Watching cricket of world class boosting us a little , visiting London and a quick tour of London, enjoying seeing places like Buckingham palace, River Thames ,staying for four hours and gazing through the busiest Airport in the world " The greatest Seathrow Airport" [ one flight every minute taking off] .To plan taking off a flight one every minute is not at all a joke .How much of synchronization , engineering plan is required to organise everything smoothly with absolute, precise timings of taking off , landing etc was a mega show unimaginable. That has thrilled me .For quite sometime I want to put some pics in a slide show and it was getting delayed and delayed. Today only I made it. The animated show with one of my favorite songs adds tone to this show.Pl enjoy with music this great Travelogue of the West Indies tour.I sincerely thank Hutch authorities for arranging the complete tour ,visas and the team of Cutting Edge for all their efforts in making it one of the greatest moments of my life.
Barbados has the most beautiful lush plants we have seen in the carribean. We stayed and enjoyed in Speightstown in a sugar miils villa.
Wine and Dine in the Isles
Caribbean cultures combine to create dining delights.blend of ethnic influences, Caribbean food is a rich reminder of where today's Caribbean people came from: island food brings together indigenous tastes of the native Arawak and Carib Indians, European colonial influences, and African flavors introduced by slaves. Seafood is a natural specialty of the islands, but the Caribbean's rich soil bears many treats as well. The end result is an enticing Creole mix that is one of the most widespread cultural exports of the Caribbean. Indeed, the innovative cuisine of the West Indies is enjoyed all over the world. Of course, the kind of island (and restaurant) can also make a difference in the cost of a meal. While some places offer meals as low as about $2(USD), others, like Anguilla, have entrees that run as high as $50(USD). The Dominican Republic has some of the lowest meal prices, with an average meal being no more costly than $10(USD). On the other hand, Aruba, while known for its fine dining, offers meals generally starting at about $35(USD) for gourmet cuisine. One of the most interesting aspects of Caribbean dining is the ability to try it all: Grab a bite at a small mom-and-pop, or dress to the nines for a night out. The next night you can try something different. And, of course, the foods will differ from island to island as well. From the savory spices of Latin cuisines to the stylish French fare, you're sure to find something different every night. They are very well known for the Varieties and kicks of Rums.Rum is their own
wealth and innovation. There are as many Rum shops in the island as many as the tea stalls/ coffee shops that you findin South India.
From High Seas to High Life
The history of the Caribbean is rich with adventerous tales, blended cultures, and natural diversity. The impact of colonialism and slavery can still be seen in many of the island cultures today; so much so, in fact, that travelers often note a sense of living with the near-tangible history that permeates the region. When it comes to religion, the Caribbean is dominated by Christianity. However, many different sects and cultural adaptations of Christianity can be found throughout the islands. From the religions of slaves and indentured servants to styles developed on the islands themselves, the Caribbean is full of a vibrant variety of faiths.
3 .The Caribbean is home to many religious practices, thanks in large part to its multi-ethnic historyThis overview of the region's religious beliefs is supplemented by more detailed articles about specific religious practices. Christianity is the dominant religious style in the region, but local religions also play an important role in the Caribbean.
When Europeans came to the Caribbean, they brought their own religions: The Spanish and French were devout Roman Catholics, while the British were Protestants. Irish migrants from Britain brought Catholicism with them as well, and the Dutch brought both Catholicism and Dutch Reform beliefs.
The region's religions became even more mixed when the islands were claimed by different nations, as they often were throughout the Caribbean's early history. But religious diversity exists even on the islands that rarely or never changed hands. Slavery and indentured servitude brought many people with many different faiths to the islands.
Still, the biggest challenge ??? and support ??? to the growth of Christianity was slavery. Slaves from Africa brought their own religious and spiritual practices with them, some of which combined with Catholic practices and became entirely new religions, while some spiritual beliefs simply occurred out of sight of the white masters. Many of the Caribbean-born slaves were indoctrinated into Christianity.
In fact, the end of slavery helped encourage some religious diversity in the islands. East Indian immigrants brought their own beliefs and practices to the region. Almost one quarter of the population of Trinidad and Tobago is Hindu ??? one of the highest concentrations of Hindu people in the world. Small populations of Jews and Muslims also live in the Caribbean.
whatever it may be no visitor can forget the hospitality of the Carbbeans. They may be black people but they are extremely kind and proud of theie culture. When you approach some one for a place of tourist spot that you want to visit they listen to you patiently and are go the extent of even dropping you on the spot ,sometimes diverting their own path also for your sake.Such hospitality you cannot see in any part of the world. They are certainly black people with white hearts.
Christianity is still by far the dominant religion, no matter the denomination
4.The places in Caribbean Island
The Atlantic Paradise:
The Atlantic sea engulfing the caribbean islands is extremely beaytiful. You can see a crystal clear blue sea in the Atlantics and it is execptionally amazing. The blue sea, the raising Tides churning the milk out of the sea, can be seen in almost
all the islands .some of the pictures are soaring the eyes.IT is a great blessing of the island
The Undreworld Adventure
There are lot of tourist spots. The one that lured me was the submarine adventure.Priced at 60 US DOLLARS for the package of Submarine and under sea adventure it is some what unique. The preparations of taking you to mid sea and boarding you in the submarine located far [60 mins of sea drive towards the mid sea] from coast. The submarine emerging from the undersea like a Shark was almost freezing your flood.Transfering from the boat in a shaky ocean is really adventurous.Sealing you in all in this CAPSULE and started diving down to sea. When it dives into the sea it churns your stomach also and crimp you in fear when you see the log of deapth in the LED display.99 percent vomit the food in this steep diving and for this they give you hygenic bags to collect your vomitted food. This is a safety device for the adventure
and getting rid of all your undigested food is integral. You see all yhe undrerworld creatures .colourd fish' sharks medium size, Giant tortoize and varieties of fish, sea shell coming and licking your shielded glass cabin. The adventure is one of the best that I enjoyed more than our worl cup cricket.
