BESH! BESH !ROMBA NANNA IRUKKE -PART 2
Thuppa dosai and Maddur vadai-- Vidhyarthi Bavan-- Bangalore
In Basavagudi, Bangalore there is a small hotel 20feet X 10 feet. [approx].This hotel has maximum turnover per unit area.Hot and serve or parcel one should see the roaring business in the evening. There are two key products. One Masala Dosa[ in kannada they call it thuppa dosa--thuppa beans butter which they give along with the masala dosa. The Chutney made in front of your eyes having a magnetic odour and served by pouring from a plate onto your dosa. The combination of thuppa dosa and chutney is a blessing for bangaloreans.I heard that they sell even a max of two thousand dosas from 4pm to 9 pm .The craze for these dosa you realise only when you taste it.The maddur vada is time passing dish till you get the dosa you order and is unique in its taste.
Chow Chow Bath--Bisi Bele bath:
This is a favorite two in one dish of kannadigas. You wont see this combination any part of India. It is plate with two stuff one a sweet scoop called kesari or sojji. This is stuffed with some pine apple and toned with ghee. The other scoop is a spicy scoop resembling uppuma. This combination is pretty good and is a fairly good tiffin and the name how they got needs to be researched..The bisbele bath is blende rice, vegetable and sambar dhal dish and tasty whwn seved hot. That is why iti is called "bisi" which means hot.bele means dhal.
Basundhi-- the sweet kicky dish- Agarwal bhavan
Out witting the rasagulla of Calcutta Basundhi is not pnly a kicky sweet of Gujatrathi , it is a favorite of most of the Indians,Especially the one of Agarwal bhavan is so nicely blended , you can identify the agarwals basundhi closing your eyes. They give in parcel also nowadays. The basundhi is totally a milk based snack peored with all magic touch of Agarwals. It is available in chennai and a mind pulling dish also
These are all hotel stuffs my all time favorites.Whenever I visit these places I never miss these .One more thing I want to mention .Hindu festivals are always designed for eating. We have for each festival or occasions a discrete dish. The snacks of the festivals are always the highlighs and " Nanna mooka pidikka sappidungo" [you gulp as much as to fill upto your nose] is the philosophy of the Hindus. The stuffs are also so much appealing. My part 3 will be this topic and will be a very intersting one.Relasing before next week
Bye
